President Abe announced that he had lunch with the District Governor of Rome Giuseppe Peron; was presented with a flag; working to coordinate an event at National Cathedral; also announced that Rotarians could help summer interns with housing, just talk to him or Sarah; there will be a bus to Tree Planting ceremony; fundraiser for DC Rotary Club of Capitol Hill at Dubliner 4/24 6-8:30 pm

The guest speaker was introduced, (Ed Kerns).  After 40 years in chemical research, Edward Kerns now serves as a volunteer with the Climate Change Reality Project.  He has an M.S. in Chemistry and has worked and led departments in the pharmaceutical industry (Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer) and federal health agencies (U.S. EPA, National Institute of Health).  Ed is co-author or co-editor of five research books. Trained on climate change presentations by Al Gore and The Climate Reality Project staff, he has made hundreds of hours of professional presentations to community groups and schools.  Ed also volunteers at the Smithsonian Institution and in town government.

Following an engaging question and answer session, President Abe Helal presented the tree certificate to the speaker.
