John Kelly writes John Kelly's Washington, a daily look at Washington's less-famous side. Born in Washington, John started at The Post in 1989 as deputy editor in the Weekend section. Since then, he has edited Weekend, founded KidsPost and been a general assignment reporter in Metro, and he has done journalism fellowships at Harvard and Oxford. John holds a BA in English from the University of Maryland. He was a Nieman Fellow (1998) and a Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism Fellow (2007). He is a two-time winner of "Journopalooza" Battle of the Bands.
