May's Trip Report from Russia...
While on vacation in Finland, I took a short trip to Russia and attended a joint meeting of the St. Petersburg-White Nights Rotary Club and the St. Petersburg-Neva Rotary Club. My visit coincided with the 6th anniversary of the founding of Russia's first Rotary District  #2220, in June/July of 2006, a district that includes all of the clubs in Western Russia.  D#2220 District Governor Alexander Borisov was on hand and promised to visit us in DC since his wife, Elena, is an English Professor and visits Washington twice a year but has never been to our Club!

The Neva RC was originally founded by members of the House of Scientists, primarily science & tech research scientists, but like the White Nights RC, now includes members of the business community, etc.  I spoke to the St. Petersburg clubs about our Centennial Year and invited everyone to visit us in Washington, DC!
