Invitation: The Rotary Club of DC has been asked to support Columbia Heights Educational Campus' Careers as seen from the Classroom on Thursday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to noon.  The school requests that each participating Rotarian be rotated among classrooms of seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen.

Mechanics. Each Rotarian would have up to 30 minutes in three classrooms to motivate students about employment opportunities plus outline your career field and its pre-requisites.  We would rotate into classrooms from 10:05 - 10:45, then 10:45 - 11:20 and lastly at 11:30 to noon.  Adults may be partnered by the school so that two or three adults are talking to a classroom for 10 or 15 minutes per session.

Location: The high school's address is 3101 16th Street NW, Washington 20010.  It is located on 16th Street and Irving, one block northwest of Columbia Heights Metro stop (16th and Irving.)  The school has an amazing principal, Maria Tukeva and vocational counselor, Mila Lopez.

Morale Issues: We would be offered coffee in the teachers' lounge at 9:30 a.m. and would be escorted to a classroom at 10 a.m.  Should you choose to drive, you are invited to park under the building using the access code of 35789 and entering from Hiatt PL NW.

Call to Action: Please email me at katherinesward@msn.com, if you are able to support this visioning exercise with high school grades.  The school would like to know how you want to be listed: name, occupation and where you work now (or previously.)

Note: Don't worry about being unsure of your schedule, as it is easier for us to plan for you to be present.  There is no problem if a last minute change in schedule precludes you from attending.
