Another Successful Dictionary Project Year!
The Rotary Club of Washington DC completed a successful Dictionary Project, our 11th year.
86 Rotary volunteers participated this 2013 Project year - to include One Rotaracter and two Dupont Circle Rotary Club members
We delivered to 62 DC public elementary schools and 39 DC public charter elementary schools - a total of 101 schools.
There are 4800 3rd graders in DC public Schools: 3000 in public schools and 1800 in Charter schools. We also purchased 1000 Spanish-English dictionaries for distribution.
The Capitol Hill Rotary Club conducts their own Dictionary Project and delivers to all the 3rd graders in the Ward 6 DC Elementary Schools. There are 8 Wards in the District of Columbia.
There are 12 public schools and 4 public charter schools in Ward 6 : the Capitol Hill area.
We are lucky to have dedicated Rotarians who year after year offer their time and talents to personally address each 3rd grade student and hand them this resource dictionary.
Editor's Note: THANK YOU to Committee Chair Nancy Riker for her dedication and time that it takes to organize this project!
